Our staff consists of our lead teacher, Jo Smetak, and our assistant
teacher Julia Briggs.

Mrs. Jo has a masters Degree in English, and holds both a CDA (Child
Development
Associate) Credential, and a level 6 Maryland Child Care
Credential. She has 26
years of training and experience in early child care and
education, and has been at
RBCN for 18 years. She is a speaker, writer and trainer for the
Howard County
Child Care Resource center, serves on the Howard County
Kindergarten Transition
Work Group, and is actively engaged in parent training for RBCN
and other local
organizations. She brings a high degree of professionalism to
the school and
helps to ensure that our program meets state and national
standards for
excellence in the early childhood field. |

Mrs. Julia is our assistant teacher here at RBCN. She is fluent in French and worked as a first
grade teacher in a French immersion program in Anne Arundel County
Public Schools from 1996-1999. She worked as a staff member and French
teacher for ages 2-4 at Little Stukeley Montessori school in the UK from
2000-2003. Mrs. Julia has been an RBCN parent since her return to
Maryland and is a great addition to our teaching team.
